Moxie will screen at Sundance in January (19 - 29) in the International Narrative Shorts programme.

It's also playing at IFF Rotterdam and the London Short Film Festival in January.

And it received an Honourable Mention at Etiuda&Anima in Krakow in November.

MOXIE WINS GRAND PRIZE AT OTTAWA

Moxie won the GRAND PRIZE for Best Independent Short Animation at The Ottawa International Animation Festival on Sunday.

This was the Bear's first outing and it's a great way to kick start the festival run. It's encouraging when a festival like Ottawa selects your work (which they've done for the past few years), and even more so when it wins an award like this.

I was also pleased to see Phil Mulloy win the Grand Prize for Best Feature. He's a fellow Animate filmmaker and his work has had a big influence on me.

Arts Council Axes Animate

The brilliant and unique Animate Projects is to close down at the end of March after Arts Council England's decision to cut its funding.
Animate has been funding films since 1990. They commissioned The Black Dog's Progress in 2008 but more importantly here's some of the fantastic films they've funded over the years...

Things I've done recently: helped sell some juice, got ill, finished the new film.

The name of this new film is HORSE GLUE and will have its very first screening at the Ottawa International Animation Festival (the finest of all the festivals!) in October.

It will also have its online premiere over at Animate Projects. Some details here & here, and then more nearer the time.

Speaking of the wonderful Animate Projects may I draw your attention to this new DVD, full of tip top animation that they've commissioned over the last 20 years. Get one now.
